Please time yourself when writing the Long Essay to practice the exam time restraints. You will have 35 minutes to complete the Long Essay question on the exam in May, so give yourself that much time when taking the quiz at home today. Hope you are enjoying the snow days!
However, the APUSH schedule doesn't care about snow days so we need to keep moving... Here's an overview of the work assigned since Wednesday and what you need to do by Monday 2/13: 1. Wednesday night's 3 short essays on the 1920's (ch 23) 2. Thursday night's skill building packet on the 1920's (ch 23) 3. WWI DBQ corrections (ch 22) 4. Study for Chapter 23 quiz on Monday (this might become a take-home since we are now short on class time) 5. Weekend HW: Create a Main Ideas Log for Chapter 24 - The Great Depression and the New Deal Due Thursday:
Respond to each question in a 1-page essay that includes a well developed introduction and thesis, and include LOTS of relevant historical evidence to support your positions.
Due Friday: Historical Thinking Skills worksheets packet: Causation, Argumentation, Periodization, and Interpretation Tomorrow you will conduct TWO debates, which will be 5 minute EACH.
Directions: Read the WHOLE packet to build an understanding of BOTH sides of each argument. Then, prepare for the debate as detailed below: Topics: The Palmer Raids: Defending America or Violating Freedoms?
