1. Read the first half of Chapter 20, pages 686-703, and answer the reading questions below (and handed out in class).
2. Start reviewing for your midterm. This will take place after we are finished studying period 6 and will cover periods 1-6. Look over your flashcards, homework assignments, class notes, quizzes, and tests from each period. 1. Read The Two Acre Lot by Horatio Alger (short story) and write a 1 page response to the the question: why might this story have appealed to middle class readers? Use direct evidence from the story to support your response. (refer to textbook pages 655 and 669 for help).
2. Read "Wealth and It's Uses" by Andrew Carnegie. Answer the 3 questions at the end of the reading in paragraph form. Read Zinn chapter 11 pages pgs 253-276 (not the whole chapter), and answer the questions below:
